NanoH2O
Distilling advanced tech into global water solutions
NanoH2O had built its reputation on a powerful idea: better membranes could change the economics of water. Founded in California, the company became a leader in advanced reverse osmosis technology, pioneering nanocomposite membranes that helped desalination and water treatment systems operate with greater efficiency and lower energy consumption. Under LG Chem, NanoH2O scaled globally, earning trust across critical water infrastructure projects around the world.
But the company was entering a new chapter.
As NanoH2O evolved beyond membrane technology into a broader solutions partner, its brand needed to do more than explain what it made. It needed to express what it made possible. Our task was to evolve this technical leader into a brand built for global impact—without losing the scientific credibility that made it trusted in the first place.
Through in-depth research with key internal stakeholders, we identified what needed to be preserved from NanoH2O’s heritage and what needed to be reimagined for its future. The process helped align the organization around a shared vision: NanoH2O was no longer just delivering advanced membrane products. It was helping customers solve some of the world’s most urgent water challenges.
This shift reframed the company’s role in the market. From membrane manufacturer to total solutions provider. From technical performance to meaningful impact—delivered across the global water system.
We built the brand strategy around the idea of “Turning Water into Possibilities,” capturing the power of NanoH2O’s science and the ambition behind it. Water scarcity can feel immovable. NanoH2O makes it actionable.
The strategy positions the company as fearless, solutions-driven and deeply collaborative—a partner that brings together advanced technology, dedicated people and customer knowledge to help transform water challenges into new opportunities for communities, industries and infrastructure worldwide.
The water category often looks and sounds the same: blue palettes, expected imagery and cautious promises of innovation. NanoH2O needed a brand as bold as its ambition.
Lippincott created a distinctive visual and verbal identity that reintroduced the company to the market with greater clarity, confidence and energy. The new system signals a more dynamic, progressive brand—one ready to stand apart and lead as a newly independent company.
At the heart of the identity is the orange square, evolved from the dot in NanoH2O’s legacy logo. Small in origin, expansive in meaning, it became the foundation of the design language: a symbol of transformation from molecular-level technology to global-scale impact.
Across the system, the square moves, adapts and evolves—expressing the brand’s spirit of continuous progress. Paired with a sophisticated palette and bold orange accent, it gives NanoH2O a presence that feels precise, confident and unmistakably different.
A new strategy needs more than a new look. It needs a way to show up consistently. We developed a comprehensive messaging framework to help NanoH2O tell its story across key touchpoints, from events and exhibitions to product communications and customer conversations. The framework gave the organization a clearer way to connect its technology, people and purpose—and a stronger foundation for building recognition in the market.
To launch the new brand, we also created a brand film that captured NanoH2O’s pioneering spirit, honored its heritage and brought its future vision to life.
With its evolved brand, NanoH2O now has a platform equal to the scale of its ambition. The new identity preserves the company’s scientific credibility while giving it the confidence, clarity and distinctiveness to lead a broader conversation about water, innovation and impact.
After two decades of transforming membrane technology, NanoH2O is ready for what comes next: helping turn one of the world’s most urgent challenges into new possibilities.
