Updating an established brand

Türkiye Is Bankasi was established in 1924 as the country’s first private national bank on the initiative of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey.

Challenges

This well-established, uniquely Turkish bank wanted to position itself as a modern technologically advanced institution with European competitors, while building upon its noteworthy heritage

Actions

Retained the bank’s name, well-known in Turkey and fundamentally linked to the country’s modern-day history of economic growth

Updated its ancient Arabic logo symbol to better represent a progressive and globally-competitive institution

Created a comprehensive retail design system for branch offices and newly introduced ATMs, along with identity guidelines for all printed communications and signage
