Founded in 1990 out of a vision to inspire and simplify healthy living, Jamba Juice is a leading restaurant retailer of better-for-you food and beverage offerings, including nutritious and energizing smoothies and juices.

Challenges

Create more brand consistency in stores

Elevate food theater as a central theme

Deliver more background and information about the Jamba Juice brand and products through innovative storytelling

Actions

We developed the new store design for Jamba Juice, including exterior architecture, trade dress, interior brand and product communications, space planning and customer flow, and menu system.

Utilizing or proprietary Customer Experience Mapping (CEM) process we identified existing challenges and opportunities relative to store layout, order fulfillment and customer behavior. We developed a new CEM which allowed intuitive customer flow and addressed key experience touch points such as queuing, menu comprehension, food theater, and impulse purchase opportunities.

Using the CEM as the template for the new store, we developed three macro-themed design concepts; health & wellness, guilt-free pleasure, and energy-on-the-go.

The selected concept theme of heath & wellness was then developed into a flexible kit of modular components, including all architectural elements, millwork, colors and materials, signage and environmental graphics. Modular kit elements were design for shop fabrication and plug-and-play installation, resulting in a highly efficient and cost effective implementation process.

Lippincott provided implementation support during the prototyping process to aid in value engineering, design refinement and ensure overall design intent.
