Consolidated Edison of New York needed a new communications program to raise awareness of the energy utility's new service-oriented philosophy.

Actions

Adopted the popular name Con Edison to create a more positive, contemporary image

Introduced the marketing slogan “Clean Energy” to promote the new corporate philosophy (later changed to "Conserve Energy")

Created the corporate color “Edison Blue” to unify the company's identity across all visual applications, including printed materials, uniforms, vehicles and facilities
