Musings
"My first passion was for dance and I always thought I would be a ballerina. But my body, my age and few other hurdles made me realize that I would never dance at Lincoln Center. So I went from the dream of a ballerina to possibly being a set designer at the University of Colorado, and from set designer to possibly a painter at the University of Iowa and from painter to a summer class in typography at the Kansas City Art Institute. Who even knew there was such a thing as people who designed posters and logos and books and packaging? I was fascinated and fell in love with the potential of this profession. The impact of our work on the world’s visual landscape can be profound, and there is nothing more satisfying than tackling a really complex communications challenge for a client and being able to solve it both beautifully and intelligently. This is what gets me up every day and it is never boring."
