Interactive Design Intern

Lippincott is looking for a hands-on Interactive Design Intern to join our team. You will work under Art Directors and Senior Designers.

The Interactive Designer carries out the established user experience design for the project. In order to accomplish this, the Designer must understand and be able to extend the visual language for the project, taking into consideration not only how it looks but how it works and will be used.

Responsibilities include:

  • Web experience and formal design training from a credible college/university.
  • Assist with creation of user experience design, typography, visual concept, logos, icons, and other interactive platforms.
  • Proficient in MacOSX, Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Acrobat.
  • Strong portfolio with engaging diverse designs. Branding work is a plus.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with Animation, After Effects & Cinema 4D, and digital publishing via InDesign is a plus.
  • Able to effectively communicate to ensure visual design communicates desired message.

Visual Communications Design Intern

The individual should be highly articulate, creative, motivated and show self-initiative to projects and daily routine. Ideally, they should have experience with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash. Their education background should include communications design or interactive design.

The intern will work with senior design staff on a variety of projects in and related to communications design, packaging, retail and environmental design and interactive communications. Project work will encompass 2D, 3D and interactive design.

Responsibilities include:

  • Communications design: logo design, visual systems design, guidelines, presentations
  • Interactive communication: design audits, information architecture, content blue printing, site design
  • Packaging: competitive audits, conceptualization, structural ideation, merchandising, presentations
  • Retail design: site audits, merchandising graphics, mood boards, presentations

Retail Design Intern

The individual should be highly articulate, creative, motivated and show self-initiative to projects and daily routine. Ideally, they should have experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio and AutoCAD. Their education background should include architecture, interior design, or industrial design with an understanding of environmental color and material palettes.

The intern will work with senior design staff on a variety of projects in and related to the retail environmental design group. Project work will focus primarily on retail prototype design and development, and environmental branding and communication systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Production assistance on guidelines, sign programs and design projects
  • Design and design presentation assistance on projects as required
  • Development and documentation of design elements and components
  • Updating and maintaining resource and materials library
